Hot Sauce Labels
A new hot sauce start-up, needed bold, edgy labels that would immediately communicate intensity, danger, and extreme heat. The designs had to stand out on crowded shelves and appeal to adventurous customers.
I began with market research, looking at how hot sauces use color, typography, and illustration to signal heat and danger.
Two designs emerged. Ledders Extreme features a flaming skull framed by chili peppers, set against a distressed beige background with raw, fiery textures. Reaper’s Revenge takes a darker turn, with the grim reaper surrounded by flames, glowing eyes cutting through a black backdrop accented with neon greens and oranges.
Both labels were illustrated in Adobe Illustrator. The result is a cohesive pair of designs that feel dangerous, daring, and unforgettable - perfectly aligned with the personality of the brand and its audience of adventurous food lovers.
